Independent developer Brainburn Studio today announced that Flashes of Chaos, its fast-paced roguelike top-down shooter about building increasingly devastating weapons, will launch on PC via Steam on November 6th. The weapon lab has fallen. Chaos reigns inside. With the facility’s technology scattered throughout the complex, you must infiltrate the ruined research facility, recover its lost technology, and survive long enough to escape.
In Flashes of Chaos, combat is built around speed, aggression, and experimentation. Fluid movement and pulsing synth beats accompany a brutal top-down battle where you’ll have to stab, smash, and shoot your way through enemies. Staying aggressive isn’t just encouraged — it is the key to survival.
At the heart of the game is its card-based weapon system. You can carry three weapons per run — Primary, Secondary, and Melee — with each weapon featuring ammunition card slots that determine how it behaves. Ammunition cards can be freely moved between weapons, while modifiers can further alter and enhance them. Cards and modifiers can be combined and stacked to create powerful, unpredictable weapon builds. With countless possible combinations, every run offers another opportunity to experiment, break the rules, and create an entirely new instrument of destruction.
