Gameplay Trailer for Lovecraftian Horror Adventure ‘Deep Siren’ Unveiled and Demo released for Steam Next Fest

Dionous Games and developer Made From Strings today released a new gameplay trailer for Deep Siren, the hand-drawn Lovecraftian horror adventure set against a World War II backdrop, giving audiences their first detailed look at how the game plays. The trailer can be watched here

Deep Siren follows Alexander Calder, the lone survivor of the U.S.S. Siren, who discovers a mermaid adrift at sea and is pulled into a world of supernatural horror beneath the surface. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and classic creature features, the game blends pulpy sci-fi creature design with a hand-drawn stylized world in a Lovecraftian World War II horror fairytale. The game carries a mature content warning for violence and horror. Central to the experience is an eye-closing puzzle mechanic that challenges you to determine what is real, alongside puzzles set in a strange underwater environment. The full game will also feature complete voiceover, a movie-quality original soundtrack, and collectible secrets that unlock HUD cosmetics.

Key features include:

  • Hand-drawn stylized art with pulpy sci-fi creature design
  • Eye-closing puzzle mechanic to distinguish reality from illusion
  • Puzzles set in an eerie underwater environment
  • Full voiceover
  • Original movie-quality soundtrack
  • Secrets that unlock HUD cosmetics
  • Mature content: violence and horror

The Deep Siren demo, released on October 16th, 2026 is playable free on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest, which runs until October 26th. The full game is in development from Made From Strings (madefromstrings.com), the studio of Christopher Mathes, whose earlier titles include Moonrise Fall and Murder On Space Station 52, published by Dionous Games in 2024. Deep Siren is planned for release in 2027, with no specific date announced. You can wishlist the game on Steam here
