A Distinct Future. A Great Legacy.
A great legacy. Chris Jones Gaming has always been two things at once: a living gaming news desk, and the home of a long Star Trek modding history.
Those two jobs now have distinction.
The archive lives at chrisjonesgaming.net
Anything Star Trek or Ultimate Universe related has moved to chrisjonesgaming.net. That includes the story of The Ultimate Universe mod for Star Trek: Legacy, the Ultimate Borg, the early team years, a popular forum we once had, our own video site, and the history behind Chris Jones Gaming.
That’s the museum. The work that started in 2006 belongs there, in one place, without getting buried under daily game news.
Also on .net is The Right Timing, the starship-set prequel to a newer AI project called Stellar Bonds. It fits that home. Same era of feel as the Star Trek and Ultimate Universe archive: ships, crews, and the older Chris Jones Gaming world.
Current work stays here at chrisjonesgaming.com
That includes Stellar Bonds, the modern-era AI project that belongs on this site, not the archive.
This site – chrisjonesgaming.com – is the ongoing operation. New games, launches, trailers, indie news, and new projects will be posted here. We love our Indie games. Indie games aren’t a side category anymore. They’re a big part of what people actually play.
A studio of two, five, or twenty can ship something that feels personal – a weird idea, a tight mechanic, a story a huge publisher wouldn’t green-light. Players noticed. Steam, Switch, and Game Pass made those games easy to find, and word of mouth did the rest.
That’s why indie titles keep showing up in “game of the year” talk. Not because they’re small. Because they’re specific. Somebody cared enough to make that game, not a safer version of last year’s hit.
The audience is there. The tools are there. The appetite for something that doesn’t feel focus-grouped is there. Indie isn’t the underdog lane now. For a lot of players, it is the news. We spotlight Indie games here on chrisjonesgaming.com.
If you came for today’s gaming headlines, you’re in the right place.
Why the split
The old .net site carried both the news feed and the history. That made sense for a long time. It also made the history harder to find.
The line is simple now:
- chrisjonesgaming.net – Star Trek, Ultimate Universe, The Right Timing, and the archive
- chrisjonesgaming.com – current gaming news, Stellar Bonds, and new projects
Old links are redirected so nothing important disappears. If you bookmarked a news post on .net, it will land here on this site. If you bookmarked Ultimate Universe history or The Right Timing, it stays on .net.

Thanks for reading this site for as long as you have. The newsroom is still open. The archive finally has a front door of its own.
